Hi, I’m Missy, the human behind the scenes at Little Pet Project.
This idea sprang magically into my mind one morning as I was walking my own dog (the aptly-named Abracadabra, pictured here).

I rushed back to my desk, and before my inner critic could get a word in, I announced a flash sale of “custom historical pet portraits” on Instagram. I was surprised and delighted to find that within hours I had found my people: slightly unhinged animal lovers with an active imagination and a shared love of art, history, and whimsy. I don’t know how or why ideas seem to fall from the sky especially when you’re not looking for them, but this one came along at just the right time, bringing exactly what I needed: a burst of inspiration to reconnect me to creativity, joy and silliness.

“Animals doing people stuff and taking themselves too seriously” is how I once described my favorite thing to draw. I’m beyond excited to finally have a way to share that with you!
